16-week ‘Padra’ PrAcademic Online Course on Building Biology; Regenerative Architecture; Natural Building

Hosted by Sacred Groves in collaboration with EartHauz Architecture & Design, Centre for Building Biology & Studio Naqshbandi, Auroville.  This course is application-oriented with practical building projects that are specifically designed for each student’s local context. Hence the name ‘PrAcademic’ – a combination of practice and academics – design and real building. 16-week online course: Three interactive and live 2-hour sessions (mon-wed-fri) with multiple facilitators. From 28th September 2020 – 30th January 2021. Weekly 6 hours online Weekly 4-12 hours offline commitment Post-pandemic 2 days on-site orientation (Date of the Auroville Field Immersion Program would be announced during the Summit as well as additional fee charge). END OF 16TH WEEK: 1 DAY (8 HOUR) ONLINE DESIGN SUMMIT SHARING ALL MICRO-PROJECTS AND ASSIGNMENTS Modules:  1. Building Biology  2. Regenerative Architecture  3. Natural Building Course curriculum available on demand (info@agpworkshops.com). Each student who successfully completes the PrAcademic program becomes a delegate who in turn spreads the the word about practical natural building with diplomatic zeal effectively leading regeneration projects in their local context. Course objectives:  1. To set the students firmly on the path of discovery of regeneration principles. 2. To equip students with the skills of integration & synthesis to have regeneration challenges 3. To develop local practical microprojects in regeneration across India and the world 4. To generate proactive diplomats for the emerging field of regenerative architecture in the world . What you will learn:  1.Regenerative Architecture 2.Clean Building & Zero Waste in Architecture 3.Regenerative Economics: Net-Zero Investment in Housing 4.Building Biology in Architecture 5.Building with Raw Earth – Cob, Adobe, Rammed Earth, Wattle & Daub 6.Building with Lime- Mixes, Mortar, Plaster 7.Earthen and Lime-based Natural Finishes 8.Bamboo Craft in Architecture Gain Practical Experience:  - Practical Application of Regeneration principles, Clean Building, Zero Waste, Net-zero investment, Building Biology and Natural Building in a live Architecture, Interior Design or Landscape Design project - Startup skills and mobilisation of funding for the project - Implementation of the Build-phase -Final Synthesis and Integration with Student-Collective’s Experience.
