COVID-19: Auroville engineers in collaboration with PIMS develop low cost ventilators
A team of Auroville engineers with medical assistance from Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have designed two low cost ventilators to meet the growing needs of people affected by COVID-19. These innovative ventilator prototypes have been named 'Tusky' and 'Jasan' and both of these are currently in the medical testing phase.

Auroville, FTII tie up to take cinema to a new level
On Monday, the first batch completed an eight-day short course on ‘Film Appreciation: History and Aesthetics’ conducted in Auroville by FTII under SKIFT (Skilling India in Film and Television) in collaboration with Auroville Timelines, a media pedagogy and video arts unit, headed by FTII alumni Richa Hushing and Rrivu Laha. The course attracted 99 participants, including 25 women, from 17 States of age ranging from 18 to 75 from all over India and abroad.
Tamil Nadu ties up with Auroville's WasteLess to train students on managing waste
The Tamil Nadu State Government has signed an agreement with Auroville's WasteLess team to teach students from 320 government schools about sustainable management of plastic and other waste. WasteLess is a non-profit research team that develops innovative educational programmes, materials and games about sustainable consumption and waste management targeting children aged 6 to 15.
